5. General Warranty Conditions (apply to the ATOM Conversion Warranty and Body Integrity Warranty)
You must comply with the following conditions to have the full protection from the ATOM warranties described above. If you do not, this may (depending upon the circumstances) result in invalidation of warranty cover altogether, or the amount of your claim being reduced.
-
Registration: All new motorhomes must be registered with ATOM at the time of registration.
-
UK only: The ATOM warranties apply only to motorhomes purchased within the UK and used primarily within the UK. The motorhome must not be used for continuous journeys outside the UK lasting more than 90 days per journey or exported from the UK.
-
Maintenance and servicing: You are responsible for keeping your motorhome maintained in a legal and roadworthy condition at all times and following the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule, including Volkswagen recommendations for chassis and driveline components and ATOM’s recommendations for habitation components, fixtures, and fittings.
You must ensure that the habitation part of your motorhome has an Annual Habitation Service within +/- 30 days of each anniversary of the original date of registration. The third Annual Service must be carried out before the expiry of the 36-month period from the original date of purchase. These services must be carried out by an ATOM Service Approved Centre, or a VAT-registered NCC (National Caravan Council) approved workshop. You will be responsible for all charges made for Annual Habitation Services. If the Annual Habitation Service is performed by an ATOM Approved Service Centre then ATOM accepts that the Annual Service has been performed correctly. If the Annual Habitation Service is performed by an unauthorised repairer or service Centre, or if the Annual Service has not been performed in accordance with the requirements of the warranty, or work has been performed on your motorhome that is defective or faulty, then ATOM may not be obliged to perform any work under an ATOM Warranty.
Original VAT invoices, check sheets and damp reports must be retained as proof that all Annual Habitation Services have been carried out, showing the date of the habitation services. It is vital that you retain these documents, as they will be required in the event of a warranty claim; failure to demonstrate you have complied with these servicing requirements will usually invalidate your warranty cover.
-
Carry out repairs promptly: Warranty repairs must be carried out by an authorised ATOM Approved Service Centre or NCC Approved Workshop. Repairs should be completed within 6 weeks of the Annual Habitation Service where the repairs were identified.
-
Driving after an incident: You must not continue driving the motorhome after any damage or incident if doing so could cause further damage.
-
Gauges: You are responsible for understanding the warning devices and gauges on your motorhome and ensuring they are working correctly.
-
Prohibited uses: The motorhome must only be used for recreational purposes and must not be used as a permanent residence, for hire, reward, commercial purposes, racing, or rallies.
-
Neglect, misuse, modification or total loss: ATOM warranties will not apply if the motorhome has been neglected, misused, or unauthorised modifications have been made. The warranties also do not apply if identification marks, such as chassis or VIN numbers, have been removed or defaced, or if the motorhome has been declared a total loss following an insurance claim.
-
Fraudulent claims: If you or anyone acting on your behalf knowingly uses fraudulent means, such as inflating costs or submitting false documents, all ATOM warranties for the motorhome will automatically be cancelled. ATOM may also recover previously paid claims and any other losses or damages incurred.
-
Limits of cover: ATOM’s total liability under all warranties for a motorhome will not exceed its original purchase price.
-
No variations: ATOM employees, dealers, service partners, contractors, or agents cannot vary, modify, or amend the ATOM warranty terms and conditions.
